The bottom "D" or "rectangle" getter-mounting and dual-bar getter-strip is a Superior Design to the newer RCA side-halo-getter mountings, as the bottom design keeps the heat away from the plates and anode, grid, and cathode. The chances of a bottom-getter tube developing any Heater-to-Cathode leak is far less than a side-halo-getter design because the heater is insulated from the cathode assembly with the older better designed "bottom getter" tubes.
